Community Resiliency Program- free training: Mar 16/17

From Daryl:
On Saturday, March 16th and Sunday March 17th Denman Island Fire Rescue, as part of their Community Resiliency Program, is offering free training to the Island community. The course will cover a number of topics  including:
Emergency situations
Choking
How to use an AED (automated external defibulator) and how to perform CPR
How to use a fire extinguisher
How to apply a tourniquet
The course is free and is taught by Denman Island Fire Rescue personnel (I may be one of your instructors) at the firehall (5555 Denman Road).
The course times are 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 4 pm (1300 -1600). It is the same course that is taught 4 times so you only need to register for one session.
Please register early as space fills up very quickly. Last year we ended up with a wait list.
To register please email:
These sessions will give you incredibly valuable training, along with great insights around how our Emergency Services operate- and you will get to meet some of very own Firefighters/First Responders. If you have any questions or want more information please contact me. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone that might be interested.
Can you think of a better way to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day (except of course going to Elaine’s service St. Patrick’s Day service that morning)?
